What my 5 month break up from CHH taught me
It’s been 5 months since I’ve been active on this site and the CHH community. I was unresponsive to phone calls, emails and texts. I went completely dark. I’m not proud of it but at the end, I feel like it was much needed.
Back in August, I expressed in a Facebook post all of what I was feeling.
The response from the post was incredible and it really opened my eyes to all of the good that we have done with the site. Since then tons of people have personally reached out to me and have encouraged me to keep going. I could not believe that all these people would take their time out of their day to encourage me.
This got me to thinking, the reason I loved running the site all these years was because of my core mission. My mission when I first started wasn’t about becoming a bigger a site, it wasn’t becoming more profitable, it was about reaching new people for Christ. Bringing new people to learn about Christ through music is what built this site in the first place.
After realizing the mistake I’ve made, I’ve decided to go back to the basics. This site isn’t about boosting careers or finding the next hot artist. This site is about promoting content that glorifies God. Without that, we are nothing.
We will continue accepting music and video submissions along with faith based content that encourages our faith. This life is hard and we are all in it together. I want to continue to motivate and encourage people with their faith. I want to be a part of something greater than just clocking in and out of work.
Thank you all for supporting the site and me specifically. You all truly are the best.
This life is short. Let’s do something with it.
