Twenty years ago, way back in 1996, basketball legend Michael Jordan was recruited to join Bugs Bunny and friends to go up against a team of evil aliens in a smack down game of basketball. The partially animated/partially live action movie, Space Jam, became an instant cult classic.

Now, in 2016, it has been confirmed that the long-awaited, much-rumored sequel, Space Jam 2 is a go.

This time around Cleveland Cavaliers forward, LeBron James is set to star along with the expected Looney Tunes luminaries, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and others.

James will be continuing his acting career after making his debut last year in Amy Schumer’s Golden Globe nominated comedy Trainwreck.

Justin Lin, Andrew Dodge and Alfredo Botello are currently writing the film and Lin, who directed four of the Fast & Furious movies and the upcoming Star Trek Beyond, is reportedly set to direct.

A specific release date has not yet been been announced.
