Ian Kenville – JUDAS

Ian Kenville had a lot to say about his new song:

It’s been 4 months since my last release. In that time, I learned a whole lot about myself and how to deal with emotions. While on tour, I got burned out and experienced anxiety I’d never had in my life. I would have panic attacks before shows or spazz out on my band out of stress. I was so exhausted that I got sick for 3 weeks once I returned home and could barely talk. Lesson learned: take care of your health.

I experienced betrayal and anger towards people who turned on my family and made our lives hell. Seeing my parents forced to go through an unfair experience that involved relocation and both of them losing their jobs in a day at the hands of a church made me so bitter towards ministry leaders, and I was forced to dig deep and rely on Jesus to bring peace and understanding to a situation that had me ready to fight.

I experienced the loss of friends. My close friend and producer Tre passed away in January, and to this day I still am dealing with the pain of losing one of my closest friends and artistic supporters.

“Judas” details this journey, this coming to grips with how to handle the betrayal, stress, loss, and unfair situations. My challenge is this: let the lord be the judge, your comfort, the rest you need, because you cannot do it on your own: even when you try to.
