Here comes another talk show…but with a faith-based twist. FOX plans to air a test run of the new series this summer in New York, L.A. and on local networks that it owns. The new show, to be called “The Preachers,” will be hosted by four popular megachurch pastors: John Gray (Lakewood Church), Dr. E. Dewey Smith, Jr. (The House of Hope), Orrick Quick (God Seekers Church), and Dr. Jamal Bryant (Empowerment Temple AME).
The show will be executive produced by Bill Geddie, who has served as co-creator and executive producer of ABC’s “The View” for 17 seasons.
“After ‘The View,’ I figured I’d never do another panel show, but these preachers knocked me off my feet,” said Geddie. “They’re not just another set of talking heads yakking about the events of the day; they bring real-world experience as pastors and counselors. They have a unique spiritual take on things, and they’re funny as hell … I mean, heck!”
The pastors recently did an interview on “Good Day L.A.” and talked about what to expect with the new show. Take a look…
