  1. No questions, hands down this is one if the best albums I’ve ever heard! It’s so refreshing to hear music that is so well done & actually conveys the message. I absolutely cannot wait for his official record! Also check out his group – The Washington Projects (http://www.washingtonprojects.com). They are on par if not better than BEP or the late fugees..Real Talk!! God bless

    • Dead On!! One of the best records I’ve ever had in my possesion. lol. So thankful for this artist. People r gonna catch on, & I’m gonna be like man you just catchin on now? Where you been? lol. God bless.

  2. I dont see the Christ in this mixtape (-_-)
    ……..Is it just me ?
    Secular-ly , he’s on Drake’s level .. maybe even better
But i just dont see any christ-like-ness in this … AT ALL.

    • Wow r u serious Annette? Have you really even listened to it? The Rescue, Just For Now, It Aint Easy, All My Friends, shall I go on? He’s a Christian in the entertainment industry, he’s not trying to be a pastor guys. Please get over that concept. Every artist that happens to be a christian does not have to create worship music. This is not a worship album. Lol. How about the very first song on the album. “24/7 grind trying to be close with God, Cause that is all that matters, he is all that matters”. 2nd song on the album – “Never say never, mustard seeds all up in my pockets so I never say never. Faith like Daniel chillin with the lions, ya’ll could take my life but my soul keep tryin. I dream too big, I live on the stars, my vessel is a mirror so that I reflect God.” Wowww, that’s deep! & check this out in that same song he says a line that if you listen closely sums up where he stands in the game. If you get it, you get it, if you don’t you just don’t. – “And my gameplan, I’m just the bait man, bite on the hook till your soul gets saved man.” He’s different, he’s fresh, & most of all he’s real. He doesn’t approach music trying to please the listeners who are closed minded and put Christ in a little tiny box called CHH. Like you said he is far better than Drake, but that is because he is entertaining, representing Christ & talent wise he’s blowing these other artist out the water all at the same time. Thank God for this music!! 3 of my friends have already been led to coming to church with me literally because of this record. It’s the very first record that has actually helped me minister to my friends who listen to drake, kanye, etc who are lost. I mean no disrespect Annette, but lets step outside our traditional boxes. God bless & Hallelujah!!

    • It might just be you. Lol. Come on are you for real? Listen to it again & think of bridging the gap to our generation. You just said it yourself. He’s better than Drake! So mix that, the confidence & boldness of Christ along with enough spiritual meat strategically placed throughout this record to draw in the youngsters who are lost. That’s a recipe for success! and I don’t mean worldly success, I mean succeeding @ leading this crazy, lost generation that much closer to the cross. Break down these walls of tradition. Remy I agree with you 100%. He’s a young artist who is definitely not perfect & is still learning as we all are, saved or not. But his words are on point. There is nothing wrong with wanting to dress fly, wanting to give your significant other the world, or wanting to be financially secure or comfortable, & in turn there is nothing wrong with singing about it. We all naturally want those things, and God never says that is wrong, he actually says he will give us more of our hearts desires if we are following him. He says letting those things take the place of your God is wrong, that is absolutely not what Je’kob seems to be doing in this record. Like Remy said, if you just don’t get it, you just don’t get it. Keep it comin Je’kob, we are seeing big changes in the youth over here, & it’s artist like you who aren’t afraid to shake things up that bring about the biggest change. God bless you!

    • Annette it’s not just you. I’m sure there are lots in fact maybe more people in the church that feel like you. But that’s just it. He’s trying to reach “The Lost”. You usually don’t appeal to people in the church when you are really trying to reach the lost. If you want proof just look at Jesus entire life & ministry. God, please bless Je’kob & The Washington Projects. Keep them centered, because they are about to seriously take off & they will need your guidance every step of the way. Peace & Blessings

    • Lol. Wow. If you don’t see Christ in this album then I think the only logical explanation is that you must have downloaded a different record thinking it was this one. You guys make me laugh, like literally out loud. Buy yes he is far better than Drake. He’s got hints of Drake vocally but he’s got an original flow. The big difference with him is that he can actually sing. You need to check out his group. Washington Projects.

  3. This is a very solid project! No harm intended, but I think #4 {Anywhere you like} is a stretch as far as having a Christian appeal is concerned…only because I don’t agree with us making promises we may not be able to keep. My wifie wants to go to Jamaca right now, but my pockets are not in agreement…she’d also like to revisit Tokyo and Singapore…now I’m not saying you can’t take your wifie there..but anyway… Let me say that I am quite impressed with your musical form of expression and your style and flava is going to go far to meet the lost where they are at; especially on radio. Your music is both outreach for non-believers and edifying chill music for believers! Great job! May the Lord bless your sphere of influence with the increase as you continue to keep your mind stayed on Him and express the Holy Spirit as he uses you to do! In a field of grass, your music is a budding flower! Grace and Peace ~ DJG, New Life Music

  4. I’m speechless. Honestly I have never heard a mixtape of this caliber. This is basically a free Full album. Not just a dude ryhmin over other peoples tracks. This is all original music & it’s phenomenal! Love the swagg. It’s a boldness in Christ that I hear in his music. I’m excited to see what he’s comin with nex. This is probably the biggest breath of fresh air I’ve heard in a very long time in this industry. He’s got the true potential to reach the masses. I pray that God continues to bless him & keep his heart in the right place! Great Work.

  5. Lol….its artists like this that save me from gettin all that music that cusses and talks like a toilet into my head! =D Keep reppin hard brother!!

  6. I really don’t see what other people see in this. It’s pretty bad, just mainstream auto-tune repetitive music nearly the whole time. There are only 2 good tracks and 2 half-decent tracks. Remember this is all IMO I’m not hating I’m just confused why people like this so much.

    2.5/5

      • Lol. That’s a good point Jake. Not sure I would respect this dudes review if he’s this confused. How someone listens to this album & has the audacity to say there are only 2 good tracks on it really baffles me. Oh well, to each his own. At least he aint ranting on how the album is not “Holy” enough. I can’t wait till an artist like this blows in the mainstream & breaks that stigma. Good Music Forever! God bless!:)

  7. this album wash trash…on a secular level it would sell big time, but christian rap, i dont think so…if anything the album was 99% him and hardly anything about Christ! im just bein real though, im not tryin to be a hater but im statin facts. we already have a drake my man…

    • Paul Im gonna re-quote what my man Remy T said earlier – Pay attention closely I don’t wanna lose you. Lol

“Have you really even listened to it? The Rescue, Just For Now, It Aint Easy, All My Friends, shall I go on? He’s a Christian in the entertainment industry, he’s not trying to be a pastor guys. Honestly ya’ll haters need to examine yourself & the state of the industry. Just like in the film industry, we don’t hate on people doing great films that aren’t “Gospel Oriented” so why do so many of ya’ll see the need to get on these sites & straight hate on artist that approach music with a passion to reach those that wont listen to the Lecraes & cross movements. Your hateration is seriously transparent & I for one along with many others are sick of it. Good night & God bless.

  8. WOW!!!!! Let me say it again, WOW!!!!! Just refreshing, cool, laid back, and just plain dope. Such a versative mixtape and reflecting Christ. Kinda like Rhema Soul but his own flava. Absolutely loved this. I will be rocking this for awhile.

    • I just found this out, but he’s on the Lamp Mode sound on AppleJaxx’s album Back to the Future. I don’t know how I missed that. Also, he’s part of a duet called The Washington Projects on iTunes. This brotha is certainly worth getting on the bandwagon. Enjoy ya. Christ above else.

  9. This is one of the best mixtapes I’ve heard in a very very long time. Not only is it refreshing but it is timeless. I love what the Lord is doing in Jekobs life. God bless…

  10. i mean fo real this joint is just bangin drippn with style real talk and definently something that can reach the lost! if u not seeing the christ in this then either the lyrics are goin over your head (which happens) or it just aiint for U which ok to all music aint for all people but for me this dude has been gifted to do what he’s doin praise God for him and artists like Him!

  11. Man, all I can say is Mannnnnnn. This mixtape is supper Dooooop. The production is tight and lyrics are nice. God bless you Je’kob. Love the Haters Anthem.   dj Vizion,  The Kingdom Group
